Kathleen's sermon, the first of the month of the theme "Loss", told of the story of Essau and Jacob, and of Jacob's dream. She told of yoga teacher Matthew Sanford, how his body had to grieve for its loss of function. She shared how she believes we have a strong desire to be understood by the ones we love, and that it hurts when they don't understand us. Kathleen told of the work of Alan Dienstag with writer on Don DeLillo. They have teamed up to help Alzheimer's patients write and share their stories, as a way of remembering and sharing while they can.
Chase's postlude included his own intro to "There Will Never Be Another You"
